Praise from Detective Chief Superintendent

Chris Corcoran, Detective Chief Superintendent of North Wales police and Chair of e-Crime Wales recently commented on the S8080 designed e-Crime website in his welcome speech at the e-Crime Wales Summit, 2008.

Mr Corcoran said “It’s having 1000’s of hits and we are having extremely positive feedback about how user-friendly it is”.

S8080’s extensive Information Architecture and Usability expertise came into play well before their designers even started thinking about how the site would look. “Usability is No.1 priority for us and our clients – without it, any investment in a website is a complete waste of time and money” said Matt Howard, S8080’s Technical Director.

“We were delighted when Chris Corcoran said the website was a ‘fabulous, easy to use, user friendly website’. A lot of work went into making it that way!” said Matt.

You can see Mr Corcoran’s speech at the e-Crime Wales website.

30 seconds with the team

We asked the team the following three questions…

  1. What single foodstuff could you not do without?
  2. Your 2008 Glastonbury highlight?
  3. Your tip for modern living?

Ad

  1. Beans
  2. Was good to see the event opening up to different styles of music
  3. Stay healthy

Andy

  1. Quorn
  2. Westwood discussing Jay Z after he rocked the spot
  3. Don’t believe the hype

Chris

  1. Nuts and seeds
  2. Hot Chip – Over and Over
  3. When scouring the supermarket shelves for a bottle of wine, add three quid to your budget every now and again. You’re worth it

James B

  1. Bread. It goes with pretty much anything… any kind except that new half and half rubbish
  2. Only saw a few bits and pieces on the telly but The Verve looked quite good
  3. When filling up the car at the petrol station fill up from the wrong side. This way you get all the fuel from the stretched pipe for free… so I’ve heard

James F

  1. Cheese! If I could live on it, I probably would :-) That said, I was vegan for a year!
  2. I have to confess that I didn’t see much of it. I did, however, see Amy Winehouse’s ‘performance’ – so that kind of stood out, but more for being bizarre than a highlight! You couldn’t make out a thing she was saying, but it was all in tune!
  3. Smile. Laugh. Be happy. Be inquisitive, and never stop learning. Oh, and Get A Mac! ;-)

James P

  1. Malt Loaf
  2. Seeing Jay Z trying to fit in at with Glastonbury and the mud – Otherwise Duffy!
  3. Cheap electrical goods actually do work just as well – and for last at least 6 months! (so far so good). The £5.48 coffee maker makes an excellent cuppa every time, but the £3.24 Iron actually puts extra creases in – the only item to keep clear from

JSJ

  1. Pasta and chicken
  2. Elbow’s entire set with Vampire Weekend a close second
  3. Always wear a clean pair of underpants

Jon

  1. I don’t know if carrot cake counts, but I love the Sainsbury’s slice at the moment. Other than that I’d say bread. Just plain white, with a slice of cheese in it. Yum
  2. Missing Glastonbury 2008 completely and dodging bloody Wimbledon too. Though it looked a good laugh, and I caught a clip of the Ting Tings which made me wish I was there… bugger
  3. Don’t buy stuff you don’t need and don’t buy stuff on credit, unless its carrot cake

Matt

  1. Bananas – it’s the food of champions!
  2. Glastonbury!? I didn’t catch a minute of this due to the impending arrival of our daughter
  3. Indulge yourself with a few sports so you can get out and do something whatever the weather and no matter how much time you have- some may take all day, some may take just half an hour, some you can do in the rain or on the water

Paul

  1. Nasi Goreng
  2. When it finished
  3. Why pay when you can download ;)

Pete

  1. Fruit and Fruit Juices
  2. Joan Armatrading
  3. Avoid Doctors at all costs (i.e. stay healthy!)

Rod

  1. Peanut butter
  2. Kings of Leon- Amazing!
  3. When de-badging the Audi A4, use something other than a rusted spatula

Rob

  1. Flavour filled Crisps – after going to America and discovering they only have three watered down flavours – ready salted, barbeque and cheese I’m forever thankful to Walkers Sensations for opening my eyes and not making me add salt myself
  2. Highlights! There were too many, but some of my best bits were:
    • The sun coming out
    • Jay-Z – 99 Problems
    • Mgmt – Kids
    • Crystal Castles – Yes No
    • The cider bus
  3. The cider bus

Si

  1. Olive Oil
  2. One taste
  3. Try everything……. once!

Tim

  1. Since I’m chemically addicted to Tea, I suppose I should say that. I rather partial to a Courvoisier and Redbull though
  2. Beth Ditto is off her box, but Winehouse was comedy gold
  3. Never blog about ex girlfriends. You may be surprised by who’s reading it!
